Inspirationen für Texte können für mich wortwörtlich von überall herkommen. Für diesen Text bekam ich sie in… einer mündlichen Abiturprüfung im Fach Philosophie! Das Thema war die sog. „Ticking Time Bomb Scenario“, in welchem dem Prüfling die Frage gestellt wird, wie sie/er mit einem Terroristen verfahren würde, der eine Bombe gelegt hat und gerade verhaftet wurde. Was spräche also gegen und für die Androhung oder gar den Einsatz von Folter, um den Ort der Bombe zu ermitteln und somit vielleicht den Tod zahlreicher Leute zu verhindern? In dieser Debatte treffen ethische, moralische und rechtliche Argumente aufeinander. Kann der moralische Wert einer Handlung aufgrund ihrer Konsequenzen beurteilt werden, wie es Utilitarismus, ethischer Egoismus und Konsequentialismus fordern? Oder zählt die Unantastbarkeit der Menschenwürde stärker, wie es deontologische Theorien vertreten? Was sich zunächst nach reinen Gedankenspielen anhören mag, hat in der Realität schon zu Strafprozessen mit unterschiedlichen Urteilen geführt.
