Hölle! Dass die Meere voller Dreck sind, den wir Menschen da ständig reinwerfen/reinleiten, ist klar. Als ich für diesen Text genauer recherchiert habe, war ich aber dennoch schockiert über das Ausmaß der Verschmutzung von Plastikmüll in den Ozeanen. Lange hat man gedacht, dass dieses Zeug sich irgendwie zersetzt – tatsächlich werden die Plastikpartikel lediglich immer weiter verfeinert. Eine extreme Gefahr geht daher vor allem von nicht sichtbaren Plastikpartikeln aus, welche giftige und krebsverursachende Chemikalien enthalten. Teilweise verwechseln Meerestiere die Abfälle mit Nahrung oder Plankton. Wie viele Lebewesen, Meerestiere oder gar Arten bereits daran krepiert sind, dürfte nicht mehr zu ermitteln sein. Landet letztlich auch auf unseren Tellern…
